Success For Future Award

With the motto "Das Grüne vom Ei," ecoScanwins the Start-up Award from Success for Future.

The prize was endowed with 10,000 €, which we have graciously received. What should we take away from it, that Energie Baden-Württemburg (EnBW) sponsored the prize? Well of course, as any Swabian says so well: "One doesn't look a gifted Gaul in the mouth." And  as a Start-Up we certainly have the liberty to say so, right?

As we all know, EnBW - with it's 10.5% - is quite below the federal mean of 16 %renewable energy share. We were even more pleased, that our laudator Mr. Villis, the CEO of EnBW, after the official part of the evening, joined us in a toast to the new Green Minister President.

Thats us you see in the photo with Mr. Huber, it ought to be known, that Mr. Villis gave another talk following our appearance, this explains why the Ex-CSU-leader was held up shortly. It looks a bit like we could have given him the award - no worries, he gave it back shortly afterwards. The award is now tucked away in our office in Freiburg; well taken care of by every employee here - the beauty gets at least one kiss a day!

It sends you all greetings from Breisgau

Yours, Moriz

A Promotion for a small business

The country needs new communication. Bio- and Fairtrade companies with annual sales under 10 Mil. € are being endorsed by Success for Future.

The Bio- and Fairtrade business is known for its progressive thoughts and methods. In the modern market it challenges even the most conventional competition.

"We just don't have a professional marketing department nor the budget for an external marketing firm," says Klaus Jung (Biofarmer from Baden-Württemburg), representing his co-worker.

"But, what we have, are the stories," he adds and thus means the stories of his farm and of the people who work there, those who contribute to the farm day-to-day through sustainable and fair farming pratices, while trying to better the world.

ecoScan would like to assist their goal, so that these local stories will be able to be told, and, beginning on the 1st of May, is supporting small Bio- Fairtrade businesses (up to 10 Mil. € in sales).

Our client Eosta, as the biggest Biofruit- and Biovegetable supplier of Europe, supplies grociery chains such as Coop, Migros, Edeka, REWE, Alnatura, and Carrefour.

Starting in June we will be directing attention to these supermarkets, so that consumers can scan the code on the packaging label with a smartphone. Thus we are able to identify which farmer is behind the product and anyone else who profits from purchasing biological and fairtrade products.

Volkert Engelsman, CEO of Eosta, finds ecoScan optimal, in order to communicate more intimately with consumers. "With progress towards mobile internet, we would like to convince more people, that their personal purchase makes a difference," adds Engelsman.
